Storage & Content Masternodes

Earlier this month 2 more Masternode networks were introduced to the network. And with those being part of the ecosystem we are looking to complete the so anticipated 3 layer Masternode network. Why is this so important and what does it mean?

Storage Masternodes

The Storage Masternodes will provide digital downloads for the marketplace, and will be used as a backup file server. Further they will be able to privately store data for dApps hosted on the Pirl platform.

These masternodes will be rewarded according to storage space and bandwidth used.

Why do we need Storage Masternodes and what is their importance?

The current dApps platforms like Ethereum can run dApps in decentralized manner only if the dApps are limited to simple text, anything bigger than that cannot be carried over the blockchain. This results in dApps (Decentralized Applications) requiring a certain data storage being hosted on centralized servers.

Centralized servers are mutable and vulnerable to single point attacks. This leads to dApps being no different than Apps.

With the storage masternode network this data will also be decentralized which will allow us to run the first real completely Decentralized Apps.


Content Masternodes

The Content Masternodes will provide file storage for the publicly accessible media and data needed for dApps and the marketplace.

These MN will be rewarded according to the used bandwidth.


Why do we need Content Masternodes and what is their importance?

Content Masternodes network runs the IPFS protocol. This will enhance the ecosystem by providing the possibility for hosting immutable content protected from single point attacks and DDoS..

What is IPFS?

IPFS provides a high-throughput, content-addressed block storage model, with content-addressed hyperlinks this forms a generalized Merkle directed acyclic graph (DAG).

IT combines a distributed hash table, an incentivized block exchange, and a self-certifying namespace.

Also IPFS has no single point of failure, and nodes do not need to trust each other, except for every node they are connected to Distributed Content Delivery. This saves bandwidth and prevents DDoS attacks, which HTTP struggles with.



With the completed 3 Layer Masternode Network Pirl is aiming to be the most advanced dApps platform in existence.
